Supporting the recovery in Pakistan

UNOPS can help the Government of Pakistan and other
partners deliver humanitarian and reconstruction services to
the millions of people affected by the recent floods.
As the lead UN entity in infrastructure development in postcrisis
environments, UNOPS is well positioned to assist in
large-scale rehabilitation and reconstruction projects.
UNOPS has significant experience working in disaster
affected areas around the world, from the Indian Ocean
tsunami to the recent earthquake in Haiti, as well as conflict
affected areas such as Iraq and Afghanistan.
We work closely with national governments to fill capacity
gaps and develop existing capacities, often embedding staff
in key ministries.
UNOPS has particular expertise supporting post-crisis
projects in the following areas:
• technical services for setting up IDP camps
• water and sanitation services
• infrastructure damage assessments
• designing and constructing emergency and
transitional shelters
• infrastructure reconstruction (buildings,
roads, bridges, etc)
• emergency procurement procedures
