Social vulnerability is a topic of interest in disaster management but the scope of its utility is still undefined. CDC’s Geospatial Research, Analysis, and Services Program is evaluating the benefits of considering social vulnerability in the 4 phases of disaster management -preparedness, response, recovery, mitigation.
