This report attempt to reflect on the response given and constraints faced in the humanitarian operation after the Nyiragongo eruption in Goma in 2002. It summarises the achievements of the humanitarian response, establishes the level of financial commitments reached by UN agencies and previews the remaining humanitarian efforts for the three months in aftermath, with particular emphasis on education, monitoring of volcanic and seismic activities, provision of shelter and temporary structure.
