This is a guideline from a European Union initiative through its program EU Aid Volunteers. The document is aimed to assist local NGOs in Latin America and The Caribbean to achieve their humanitarian actions by training volunteers and NGOs who want to work/help within this part of the globe. So, involved local NGOs will receive technical support and logistics, besides training, in order to come to face natural disasters and humanitarian crises. On another side, the EU initiative will work to guarantee the safety and security of engaged volunteers/NGOs within workspaces before their departure as stipulated in the guideline. The document represents a unique guideline in terms of a holistic approach to Security and the settlement of the humanitarian personnel in places with humanitarian action needs.
