This COVID19 Preparation and Response document by UNHCR reports operational updates on key sectors such as Health, WASH, Protection and Communication specifically in Cox’s Bazar refugee settlements. This operations started concurrently to the restrictions introduced on activities in the camps to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19.
It highlights the interventions at the core of preparedness and response like the setting up of healthcare facilities (SARI, ITC, ICU); the strengthening of handwashing points and soap distribution; the activation of inter-agency protection teams simultaneously to the stabilization of counselling and legal services and of the monitoring and case management; the reinforcement of the community-based protection programme to disseminate key messages on COVID-19. The report also raised the need for more focus on the upcoming cyclone and monsoon seasons.
