A practical overview of key recommendations for managing infectious human remains in the overall response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first section provides technical recommendations and guidance to health care and deathcare workers for effectively managing the large numbers of the dead from COVID-19. The second section consists of essential elements that should be addressed by decision makers and leaders of relevant institutions in the absence of an existing mass-fatality response plan.
