Supporting And Managing Volunteers During Emergencies
Spontaneous, unaffiliated volunteers - our neighbors and ordinary citizens, often arrive on site at a disaster ready to help. Supporting and managing them should be a priority in order to prevent creating a new problem against an existing problem.
This Collection contains relevant recommendations and operational guidelines in supporting and managing volunteers during emergencies. Current guidance comes from leading global organizations, government bodies and non-profit organizations: International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), The Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), United Parcel Service (UPS), Corporation for National and Community Service, HM Government.
