Shelter Meeting 18a - The Settlements Approach and Urban Response

Shelter Meeting 18a took place in Geneva on Friday 6th July 2018, on the theme of “The Settlements Approach and Urban Response”. You can search and download presentations from the meeting here. The event was led by Shelter Centre and IMPACT Initiatives in coordination with the Global Shelter Cluster Urban Settlements Working Group, was hosted by Club Suisse de la Presse and received generous funding from USAID OFDA and DG-ECHO. 144 participants registered, including 86 online for live video-conferencing, with representatives from 3 IASC clusters, 4 UN agencies, 5 Red Cross Movement agencies, 24 NGOs, 5 academic institutions, as well as many independent humanitarian practitioners. Shelter Meeting 17

The theme of Shelter Meeting 17 was "self-recovery and the settlements approach". The Shelter Meeting is an annual conference for humanitarian technical practitioners, constituting a state-of-the-art meeting involving live video conferencing, including good practice case studies, the peer review of sector projects and the prioritisation and knowledge sharing in the humanitarian sector. The Shelter Meeting is your opportunity to promote your priorities and share your experience, whether related to the event theme, or generally relevant to our shared community of practice. Shelter Meeting 17 was attended by 3 donors (IASC Global Shelter Cluster, UNOPS and USAID/OFDA), 4 United Nations agencies and 24 NGOs. The Meeting was hosted by Club Suisse de la Presse.
