Qatar Charity supports Nepal’s rural hospitals with ambulances
Qatar Charity supports Nepal’s rural hospitals with ambulancesQatar Charity (QC) has provided 8 ambulances to several hospitals in Nepal’s rural areas, to contribute to supporting the country’s health sector. The ambulances, along with the necessary equipment and supplies, were delivered to the hospitals, in collaboration with Ministry of Health, Population and Family Welfare of Nepal’s Lumbini Province. The ambulances are equipped with ECG monitor and oxygen cylinders along with other 22 emergency equipment.The ambulance service will benefit the community and people residing in the region. It is worth mentioning that this project is part of Qatar Charity’s humanitarian intervention in support of the health sector of Nepal where 80% of the total population live in rural areas, and the maternal mortality rate is 186 per 100,000 live births (World Bank, 2017). Likewise, the infant mortality rate is 28.2 per 1000 live births (UNICEF, 2020).
