National Plan of Action Against Trafficking in Persons 2017-2022

The Government of Malawi enacted the Trafficking in Persons Act No.3 of 2015 which provides a comprehensive legislative framework for combating and preventing trafficking in persons using a human rights approach. It has also established an institutional framework for effective regulation and coordination of trafficking in persons and related matters, including the provision for, among other things, the protection of victims of trafficking in persons, prevention of trafficking in persons, funding arrangements, care and support of victims and specific offences and penalties for offenders.
