This publication examines the housing compensation and disaster preparedness in the aftermath of the 2006 war in south Lebanon. Such an inquiry logically led to questions of emergency preparedness and structural mitigation, as troubling deficits in the quality of reconstructed housing became apparent. Furthermore, question pertaining to southern Lebanon’s ability to withstand further conflict or a major earthquake emerged.
